Invest in uniquely Australian food! Your donation fuels research that empowers First Nations communities in agribusiness.

The First Nations Agribusiness Fund supports Indigenous communities by fostering native food enterprises that honour traditional knowledge and cultural heritage.

This fund finances crucial research, market development and legal frameworks that empower First Nations partners to lead the expansion of the Australian native foods sector. Your donation drives sustainable growth by equipping First Nations entrepreneurs with the tools needed to innovate and preserve their ancestral lands and traditional foods.

Your contributions will directly support UQ researchers at the Queensland Alliance for Agriculture and Food Innovation (QAAFI), particularly those at the Centre for Nutrition and Food Sciences and the ARC Industrial Transformation Training Centre for Uniquely Australian Foods.

This UQ Giving Day, we hope to raise $20,000.

Every gift is meaningful.

Opening a dedicated philanthropic fund for supporting research for First Nations agribusinesses is a UQ-first. This groundbreaking research fund recognises the essential role of Indigenous communities in shaping Australia’s agriculture and food landscape.

By offering targeted research support for native food enterprises, we address a long-overdue need and empower First Nations people to lead in agribusiness. It’s time to invest in the science that upholds the unique knowledge and heritage of Indigenous communities, providing them with the resources needed to thrive and drive sustainable growth in this vital sector.
